Technology Centre Teltow: Room for Ideas
The Technology Centre Teltow supports and advises founders of new businesses as well as small and medium-sized enterprises in the region Teltow.
The centre was founded in 1990 and since then it has been an enterprise of the administrative districtLandkreises Potsdam-Mittelmark. During this time an interesting and innovative location of emergent companies has been developed. Up to today more than 120 enterprises have been founded and over 400 permanent jobs have been created in the TZT (Technology Centre Teltow).
Being a start helper and service provider for enterprise foundations, the centre's concept is to support innovative and marketable ideas primarily in the areas of information and communication technology as well as telematics, sensor technology and automation technology. Other enterprises work in the sector of electronics and microtechnology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, environmental analysis, environmental technology and service.
The idea of the centre consists in the permanent settlement of innovative enterprises and in the first phase of the enterprise's activity to offer reasonably priced business premises which meet the requirements of the entrepreneur. In addition to, the new founded company is offered greatest possible support regarding the setup of a steady enterprise by management consulting for business start-ups, coaching and other services. These particular consulting possibilities, which are guaranteed by a permanently on-site practical experienced management, contribute to the chance of the considerable increase of the company's success.
Normally, the enterprises are supposed to remain tenant for no more than 5 years after which they settle down in the nearby surroundings. Many of the companies have already brought their products to market and moved to the Techno Terrain Teltow . With an area of more than 600,000 m², Germany's biggest inner-city office and business park offers excellent conditions in close proximity to the capital Berlin and the regional capital Potsdam. Today, over 200 enterprises with about 7,000 employees work in a great variety of specific industries here. Among these, there are numerous technology companies which can be interesting business partners for new settlers.
Because of the good innovation climate, 6 enterprises of the TZT and other high-tech-companies received the innovation award of Berlin-Brandenburg in 1992, which is assigned for outstanding novelties of the districts Berlin and Brandenburg.
The TZT cooperates with InnoKolleg, the discussion group of the innovation centres of Berlin and surroundings.
